Galería de la Raza welcomes nonprofits and other 501(c)(3) organizations to use Studio 24 for a wide range of events. Located between the 24th Street Mission Bart Station and 101 Freeway, Studio 24 is an accessible space to host events. From holiday celebrations to community meetings, the space has long supported individuals and groups committed to social justice and community building through art, dialogue, and activism.

To request rental access to Studio 24, you must be 21+ and must act as the designated liaison or representative for your organization. Events being held at Studio 24 must align with Galería de la Raza’s mission to work towards social inclusion and justice, centering community arts to navigate the complex intersection of urban development, social inequality, affordable housing, and the historical-cultural legacies of communities of color (racial, gender, and LGBTQ equity).

Galería de la Raza reserves the right to cancel or deny any collaboration and/or event.

Facilities Appearance/Equipment:

– Scuffs or other marks on walls should be cleaned immediately post-event. Spillage on floors must be addressed and cleaned up with urgency. The User is responsible for purchasing all materials to return walls back to original condition should they be damaged. User is also responsible to restore any or all walls to presentable conditions before the next operating day of Galería’s operating hours schedule; if not, part of the User’s security deposit will be used for such materials and labor needed to restore Galería to presentable conditions. Galería does not grant rentals wishing to use the Main Gallery as a visual arts exhibition space.

– Food and beverage service are not included in usage fees. Please note that while Galería has an onsite kitchen/storage space for hospitality items, food and drinks must be prepared and fully cooked off-site and ready to serve. The User agrees to properly clean, sort, compost, recycle, and dispose of refuse, including food, drinks, etc. The site must be returned in conditions received.

– Artwork: Art that is currently on display during events should not be touched, leaned on, or removed from walls. User will be financially responsible for any artwork or additional damages occurring during the event.

– Alcohol Policy: No alcoholic beverages may be sold. For private events serving alcoholic drinks, approval by Galería’s Executive Director must be documented and additional liability paperwork must be completed. Drinks may not be consumed on the sidewalks or areas outside of Galería, and must be served to persons who are of legal age (21+).

– Smoking: Absolutely NO smoking is permitted indoors. Street smoking should be monitored for noise level out of respect for surrounding apartments.

– Gambling: Absolutely NO gambling, or other games of chance, is permitted on Galería grounds.

– Noise Curfew: Amplified noise (such as, but not exclusive to live music, DJs, and performances) must end at certain times with respect to the residential area around Galería. These are per San Francisco Police Code, Article 29 (Noise Control Ordinance): Noise must cease at 10 P.M., with the event ending no later than 11 P.M. (including clean-up, breakdown and load-out of equipment).

Galería offers supplemental equipment for all types of events, from business meetings with digital presentations to social mixers and cultural events with live or DJ amplified music.

If your Cater, DJ, and/or Vendor need tables and/or chairs, they need to bring their own or included in your additional equipment rental.
