Galería de la Raza is one of the nation’s premier Latine arts and culture institutions. Informed by creative “place keeping” practices that center Galería’s public programs to promote, challenge, and evolve the Xicane/Latine art canon and to encourage engagement in social thought and activism. Our public programs include an annual visual arts exhibition, seasonal performing arts, public art advocacy campaigns, and public art projects.
Since its inception, Galería’s programs have upheld the Universal Declaration Of Human Rights Article 27, Section 1 that states “Everyone has the right to freely participate in the cultural life of the community”. Therefore, to this date we provide free and/or highly accessible public arts programming for all to enjoy.
