Galería de la Raza X Am I Next?
September 12 @ 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Join Galería de la Raza and Am I Next? at Fiesta de las Americas for a mobile photoshoot! Participants will have their photo taken to lend their voice for a public art campaign to be installed at Galería’s Studio 16.
Am I Next? is a public declaration against silence in the face of growing injustice. What began as a response to immigration raids has become a broader stand against racialized targeting and the erosion of civil liberties.
Am I Next? is collaborating with Galería de la Raza to have San Franciscans join in solidarity and resistance with individuals held in detention centers throughout the United States. With this campaign, we invite the public to join in a collective call to action to denounce the incarceration and family separation being inflicted on our undocumented communities, neighbors and allies. The erosion of due process in the United States has left everyone vulnerable and susceptible to racial profiling leading to an arrest to deportation pipeline. Enough is Enough. Featured individuals represent the diversity of our community, it does not distinguish a person’s status, but rather creates a moment of solidarity and visibility towards a collective act of resistance where “El Pueblo Salva Al Pueblo”.
All ages and genders are welcome. All individuals must give written consent and understand the goals of the project to participate. Individuals will be asked to sign an informed consent form before their picture is taken.
