Monique D. López was born in Downey, CA in 1979. She received a MFA in Fine Arts from California College of the Arts in 2010 and her BFA in Drawing and Painting from California State University, Long Beach in 2006. She was the recipient of the McNamara Family Creative Arts Grant in 2009 through the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
