SUMMARY:Lunada New Moon Fest 2026
DESCRIPTION:For the past 25 years\, Lunada Literary Lounge has gathered on the full moon to honor spoken word\, poetry\, musica\, and literatura. On its silver anniversary\, Galería will instead gather under the new moon\, holding three seasonal gatherings on April 17\, June 14\, and October 10\, 2026.  \n\n\n\nAlthough shrouded in darkness\, the new moon signifies new beginnings\, limitless possibilities\, and rejuvenation. This lunar phase allows us to set intentions with a blank slate\, and give ourselves and our community moments to re-energize with art and the words of our community during destabilization and high anxiety.  \n\n\n\nThe ritual of gathering transforms to fulfill what we as a community need to thrive. As we lead up to each seasonal gathering\, poets will join us along the way providing offerings of their work in digital format. Join Galería de la Raza on Wednesday\, November 5 at Studio 24 for the third installment of Lunada Literary Lounge this season! Returning to host and curate our Fall lineup is Mission homeboy and writer Norman Zelaya. \n\n\n\nHave something to share? Sign ups for our June Open Mic are now open! \n\n\n\n\nClick Here\n\n\n\n\nFree admission. \n\n\n\n\nAbout the Features \n\n\n\nAndrea Amezcua Porras\, {yAyA} is an indigiqueer\, 2Spirit ChicanIndia Coahuilteje descendant y culture cura transdisciplinary movimiento artist with 3 decades of cultivating creativity in comunidades between Sacramento\, San Francisco and Oakland and beyond world borders. \n\n\n\nRecently they have been co-creating site specific performances work as MovimientoyAyA brigade; through commissions\, invitations & research opportunities.
