Volunteer Opportunities @ Galerķa, November 2012

Volunteers play a vital role in the heart and soul of our programs, and generous individuals in our communities and beyond - like you - who assist in Galería’s ongoing calendar of events, gallery production, and administrative assistance make a world of difference.

By joining us as a volunteer, you get to experience the organization from both a free and exciting behind-the-scenes viewpoint, as well as interact with a community of arts appreciators!

If you are interested in volunteering at Galería, please email volunteer@galeriadelaraza.org with what opportunity interests you, subject line “I want to volunteer at ____________” (name of opportunity). Volunteers receive an orientation and walk-through of all gallery venues on their first day of volunteering.

Available Volunteer Opportunities, November 2012

BIG EXTRAVANGANZA:

"The Move"

Volunteer shift: 12pm-6pm

Dates: November 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28

What: programmic support in main gallery and Studio 24 (Galeria's annex venue)

Details: Galería is making a change - specifically, a big move! In order to support the many programs and events the organization produces, we will be revamping our spaces to include class labs, archiving services, and artist-in-residency programs. To that end, Galería will also be moving offices from our main gallery space into our annex venue Studio 24 to accommodate our growth in programs - and we're looking for a few good volunteers! Assist in the move, paint, set-up, decor, and execution of a very historic and very important move for the Galería. Some lifting may be required; refreshments provided.

Need: 2-5 volunteers per day; please email if you can even only do a part of one shift!

EVENTS:

Wednesday, November 28

Volunteer shift: 6pm-10:30pm

Event: Lunada

Details: Galería's monthly literary series features both neighborhood and international talent including live poets, musicians, performers, and more. Event production includes venue set-up, photo documentation, hospitality, and performer aid as needed. No experience required.

Need: 2-3 volunteers

During the month of November

Please note that Galería is committed to the flexibility and needs of our volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, but are only able to do part of a shift, we can work with you depending on the day. Email today!
