Rio Yañez
Born and raised in San Francisco's Mission District, Rio Yanez is a multimedia artist and graduate of California Institute of the Arts (BFA, 2005), where he majored in Photography and Media. His solo exhibitions include: El Rio vs. Comics, The L-Shape Gallery, Santa Clarita, CA (2005); Welcome to the Mission, The Lime Gallery, Santa Clarita, CA (2003). He has also exhibited in group shows such as: Dia de los Muertos: Offerings of Passion, Miracles, and Peace, SomArts Cultural Center, San Francisco, CA, (2004); Dia de los Muertos: Bringing Light to Darkness, SomArts Cultural Center, San Francisco, CA (2003); 25 Years of Heart and Struggle, Mission Cultural Center for the Latino Arts, San Francisco, CA, (2003); Innovation, Mission Cultural Center for the Latino Arts, San Francisco, CA (2003); and Re:Generation, Mission Cultural Center for the Latino Arts, San Francisco, CA (2002).
