Because We Still Be

An evening of storytelling about the Mission

Friday, April 8, 2011 | 7:00 pm

An evening of stories from the born-and-raised, true life Mission residents who tell it like it is. Featuring Ariel Vargas, Veronica Majano, and special guests. Hosted by Norman Zelaya, with DJ Aztec Parrot on the turntables

This evening, we will also be remembering Victor Martinez: award-winning writer, friend and longtime Mission resident.

Because it is in us to gather from time to time. Because we carry much of the recent history. Because we still carry much of its future. Because people should know we are still here. Because we are why people come. Because we see who is coming and who is next. Because it wasn't always cool. Because it was and still is home. Because my friend used to meet up with me here.  Because it was always full of heart, soul and love. Because we still are here.

$5-$10, sliding scale
