Galería de la Raza presents: The Sanctuary City Project

Galería de la Raza is thrilled to partner with Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) to temporarily activate the 2205 Mission Street façade with The Sanctuary City Project. Installed on a site used by the local Mission community as a vending hub, as well as a site earmarked for future affordable housing, this public art intervention will center community dialogue around the politics of sanctuary and who gets counted in this country.

Caravan for the Children: Uncage, Reunify, and Heal
Carvana Por Los Niños: Liberar,Reunificar, y Sanar

On day 1 of the Biden-Harris administration, we invite you to join our virtual kick-off of the #100DaysForMigrants campaign!

For this first action, a Bay Area coalition will caravan with the message to hold the new elected administration accountable for not only their proposed Biden Immigration Plan but also to ensure the reunification of children that were separated by the previous administration’s zero tolerance policy at the U.S/Mexico border.

This campaign is led by anchor institutions: CARECEN SF, The Chicana Latina Foundation, Galería de La Raza, Insituto Familiar de la Raza, and Latinx Racial Equity Project.

We call on the new administration to:

UNCAGE

Prioritize finding and releasing detained migrant children.

REUNIFY

children with their families.

HEAL

Support for the families to heal from this trauma.

The #100DaysForMigrants campaign will center various artistic projects and safe outdoor social distancing actions throughout the 100 day countdown of the Biden Harris administration. We seek to send a public message to the impacted children and families, as well as to those stranded at the border that we welcome them, we love them deeply and will never abandon them.
